Event Director - 2025 Victorian AOR State Dressage Championships

Expressions of Interest are Now Open for the EVENT DIRECTOR ROLE - 2025 VICTORIAN AOR STATE DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The AOR State Championships will be held 11 - 12th October 2025 at Boneo Park, Victoria and is a showcase event for the Amateur Owner Riders in Equestrian Australia.

As Equestrian Victoria looks to broaden participation and elevate the event, we are now seeking Expressions of Interest for an Event Director to work with a passionate and skilled volunteer committee to deliver a fantastic member experience.

KEY ROLES AND ATTRIBUTES INCLUDE:

• An understanding of the sport of Dressage -  previous event experience is important
• The ability to work well with other people, including volunteers and EV Staff.
• Ability to liaise with and manage suppliers and contractors associated with the event.
• Develop strong, loyal, mutually beneficial relationships with event sponsors.
• The ability to coordinate several event projects at the same time.
• Financial management.
• Resilience and a good sense of humour!

We want you to have a great experience as well and Equestrian Victoria will support you and your committee to deliver this event.

Remuneration will be negotiated and currently includes a base honorarium.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

* Previous experience running EA dressage events.
*  High level of oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict management skills
*  Ability to think strategically and 'outside the square' and respond appropriately to issues as they arise
*  Sound financial and budgetary management skills
*  Strong planning and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks effectively
*  Proficient computer skills
*  Flexible with hours and tasks (must be available on weekends if required)
*  Current driver's licence and car
