Show Horse Committee Report - June 2021
The EV Show Horse committee met remotely on Tuesday 22nd June and is pleased to submit the following report.
BARASTOC 2022
The Barastoc committee has been asked to consider the qualifying requirements for the 2022 event. Due to the cancellation of many shows in the lead in to Barastoc 2021, no qualifications were required.
The committee will consider the cancellation of some shows this autumn and projected cancellation of spring shows before finalising that decision.
Members will be advised as soon as practical.
MEASURING
Details for the measuring day on Saturday 26th June were confirmed.
EV Show Horse has been asked to combine with SCV at a measuring day at Tatura on 8th August. Confirmation of that proceeding will be advised shortly.

The clinic for June 27 was full and details finalised at this meeting.
The next clinic will be on July 17 for which applications will be taken via Nominate in the coming weeks.
The final clinic is scheduled for August 22nd.

YOUNG AMBASSADOR AWARDS
This committee would like to congratulate all contenders for these awards and we acknowledge the high standard of nominees.
The 10 finalists have been selected and they will attend a full weekend of lessons, mentoring and interactive instruction as well as having the opportunity to socialise with other discipline finalists at Werribee Park on 24th/25th July.
Jason James has kindly agreed to instruct.
Three finalists will be selected from that weekend and the winner announced at the EV Awards night on Saturday 31 July.EV SHOW HORSE & RIDER AWARDS
These awards will be presented at a dinner at the Sofitel on Collins on Saturday 31 July.
As well as the awards for the most successful horses and riders, there are a number of other categories which are decided by members votes.
Please support our show horse nominations when voting opens.
We would also like to see good show horse representation at the awards dinner - don’t forget to book!
NEW COMMITTEE MEMBER
Your committee is pleased to advise of the appointment of Annie Williams to the Showhorse committee.
No doubt known to many of you, Annie has an extensive background in breeding and showing horses and also brings her considerable business knowledge to the committee.
Welcome Annie, and we look forward to your input for the betterment of our sport.
MEMBERSHIP
Members are reminded that memberships are due on 30 June.
In particular, 2020/2021 qualifiers for the Australasian Horse and Rider Championships must retain continuous membership to be eligible to compete at the Nationals.
As we look forward to some better riding weather and the preparation for spring shows, we look forward to seeing you at our forthcoming events.
As always, your committee is pleased to receive any constructive suggestions that are for the benefit of our discipline.
Stay safe
