Vale, John William Anker. 1948 - 2024

The Board of Equestrian Victoria, all disciplines, riders and officials would like to acknowledge the passing of John Anker and offer condolences to the Anker Family.

 John contributed to the success of equestrian sport in Australia through his creation of training and competition facilities with his wife Angela at their property east of Melbourne, Wandin Park.

Since 1981, and amongst many other events, he has hosted what is known now as the Australian Eventing Championship and with over 700 participants travelling from all states in Australia to compete, his generosity and drive to make Eventing an enjoyable spectacle for riders and spectators made for huge crowds and of course great entertainment.
