EV Facebook Page and Discipline Facebook Groups

We recognise that Facebook is one of the main platforms our members use to connect across the equestrian community. There are currently around 29 pages operating that are associated with Equestrian Victoria.

Recently, some of our pages were hacked, our admin access removed, and the pages left inoperable. Since then, we have been working very hard to regain access to the attacked pages. Unfortunately, we have not been successful in re-establishing access to those pages. 

Equestrians are resilient people and always look for a positive among the negative, so, with expert assistance, we have taken the opportunity to implement a strategy that will create a safe, responsive and welcoming place for all to engage.

The Equestrian Victoria Facebook page will be where you can find posts that apply across all disciplines. Articles, important announcements and other items that effect members and non-members regardless of their chosen equestrian sport or interest.

WELCOME TO OUR FACEBOOK GROUPS

We have now established Facebook Groups for each discipline. These groups will replace all discipline Facebook pages. The remaining 'old' discipline pages will be retired in the next few weeks.

Why Groups?

Facebook groups were designed to facilitate conversations and interactions in a meaningful way. They are a place to encourage community and be more engaging than pages can be. They are also less likely to have fake profiles joining in and thus discourage spam activity - generally they are a safer and more inclusive environment for all group members.

JOIN YOUR GROUP

Groups will be where the conversation happens for each discipline, and we hope there will be opportunities for polls, video chats, expert guides and more. In the future we hope to include more content for you to enjoy. You can join one, two or all of the groups - the choice is yours.

MAJOR EVENT FACEBOOK PAGES

You will still interact with and follow your favourite Equestrian Victoria Major Events as you have always done. 

Our Major Events such as the Furphy Media Melbourne International 3DE, PSI DJWTS, Barastoc Horse of the Year, Hygain Victorian Dressage Festival, Cavalor Equicare Victorian Jumping State Titles, PETstock Interschool EV State Championships, Ego Sunsense Show Horse Nationals and the Victorian Youth Dressage Championships will still operate their Facebook pages. The same friendly team, the same fantastic events.
