Regional Victoria easing of COVIDSafe settings
The Premier, Mr Daniel Andrews, has today announced that Regional Victoria, with the exception of Greater Shepparton, will come out of lockdown at 11:59PM Thursday 9 September.
For Regional Victoria, the five reasons to leave the home will be removed, (except for Greater Shepparton) and there will be no limit on the distance regional Victorians can travel from home – other than restrictions regarding travel to and from Metropolitan Melbourne.
The Authorised Worker list will no longer apply in the regions, meaning most businesses and venues can reopen with capacity and density limits. Regional Victorians will return to the rule 'if you can work from home, you should work from home' but office workers will be able to return up to 25 per cent or up to 10 people, whichever is greater.
The information below is from today's announcement, however further clarification and or changes may be made once the Restricted Activities Directions document is released. The changes to the current COVID Safe Settings from 11:59PM Thursday 9 September for Regional Victoria (except Greater Shepparton) will meant that for equestrians:
- COACHES: As the requirement for Authorised Worker Permits no longer applies to Regional Victoria (except for Greater Shepparton), coaches can commence coaching. However coaches cannot travel to Melbourne or Greater Shepparton to coach and those from Melbourne or Greater Shepparton cannot come to them.
- COMMUNITY SPORT: Permitted outdoor TRAINING only with the minimum number required to train. Spectators are prohibited except one parent permitted to supervise children. If you are from Metropolitan Melbourne or Greater Shepparton you are not permitted to go to Regional Victoria to train.
- COMMUNITY RECREATION FACILITIES: Outdoors only with up to 20 people per facility. This means no organised club events or competitions. You can TRAIN ONLY with the minimum number of people needed to train. Melbourne or Greater Shepparton people are not permitted to attend.
- INDOOR PHYSICAL RECREATION AND SPORT: Closed.
Please ensure you maintain social distancing, hygiene and density requirements.
