2019 Election of Directors
Nominations now open for the Election of Directors - Equestrian Victoria
On Friday, 18 October 2019, Equestrian Victoria (EV) released the Agenda, Annual Report and associated information for the EV Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will be held on Monday 11 November 2019.
The EV Board would like to bring it to the attention of the membership that at the 2018 EV AGM due to all four (4) elected director positions having been filled by casual vacancies, all four (4) positions were declared vacant and subsequently elected for a period of two (2) years each.
Following a review of the 2018 election process the Equestrian Victoria Board has unanimously agreed that two (2) of those positions elected in 2018 should have been for a one (1) year term. As a result, consistent with Clause 26.4 (b) of the EV Constitution the EV Board has resolved that:
- The two (2) positions with the least votes from the 2018 election will be declared vacant; and
- that these positions are now eligible for nomination
Please note: the incumbent directors whose seats will be declared vacant at the 2019 AGM have, with the full support of the EV Board, signalled their intent to re-nominate.
The process for nomination and election will follow the same process as in 2018, consistent with Clause 27 of the Equestrian Victoria Constitution, albeit on a shortened time frame as follows:
- Monday 28 October – Statement to EV Membership & Nominations Open
- Monday 4 November – Nominations Close
- Wednesday 6 November – Voting Opens (online)
- Monday 11 November – Online Voting Closes (noon) allowing for counting and announcement at the 2019 EV AGM
